The accommodation is located midway between the world-famous Kruger National Park and the world’s largest green canyon, the Blyde River Canyon - both are within a 40 minute drive of the Volunteer Centre. Tshemba will coordinate weekend activities for all volunteers.
A variety of game viewing adventures can be arranged, from guided and weekend accommodation in the best private game reserves in the country to self-drive weekends in the Kruger National Park. In addition, one can attend wildlife photography tours, enroll in photography courses and half day trips to Moholoholo Animal Rehabilitation Centre (featured on National Geographic), Hoedspruit Endangered Species Centre & Cheetah Project and Khamai Reptile Park. The Blyde Canyon offers some of the most spectacular scenery in Africa and can be explored on foot, by car, by boat or by air.
Additional activities include golf, mountain biking, hiking, swimming, weight training, yoga, abseiling, white river rafting, tubing, kloofing, microlighting, helicopter rides and hot air ballooning!
Wildlife is not the only getaways that one can experience. From the outskirts of town to the boutique essence of Hoedspruit central, there is much to be explored. Because the foundation is here to assist the local communities, we like to encourage our volunteers to experience the town's liveliness, such as spending weekends trolling through the handicraft shops, pampering yourself at the local Spa's or indulging in some delicious resident eateries.
